During a rally in New Hampshire, Trump reiterated his stance, asserting that immigrants are affecting mental institutions and prisons globally. This language, previously condemned by the Anti-Defamation League for being “racist, xenophobic, and despicable,” adds fuel to the ongoing debate on immigration policies.
Trump didn’t reserve his criticism solely for immigrants; he also targeted President Joe Biden, labeling him as having a “low IQ” and being the “most corrupt president” in US history. These insults were hurled during a scathing attack at the New Hampshire rally, where Trump pledged to restore the country and proclaimed, “As long as Joe Biden is in the White House, the American Dream is dead.”
The 77-year-old Republican leader, eyeing a potential second term, has vowed to take a hardline stance on illegal immigration. This aligns with his previous focus on border security, promising to revive strict policies and introduce new measures to control both illegal and legal immigration.
Critics, including the Anti-Defamation League, have slammed Trump’s language, but his campaign spokesperson, Steven Cheung, dismissed the criticism as “nonsensical.” Cheung argued that similar statements are prevalent in various media, defending Trump’s choice of words.
While Trump emphasizes stringent immigration measures, Biden’s administration seeks more orderly and humane policies. However, the surge in migrants has posed challenges for Biden, potentially impacting his re-election prospects.
