Otto Retailer Leaks Samsung Galaxy A55 and A35 Ahead of Official Launch

Excitement sometimes leads to unexpected reveals, and it seems someone at German retailer Otto couldn’t contain their enthusiasm for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A55 and A35. Surprisingly, the online store has already made both phones available for purchase, a full week before their scheduled official launch on March 11 in India, the only launch date Samsung has confirmed.

Prices of Samsung Galaxy A55 and A35

Let’s delve into the details. The Samsung Galaxy A55 boasts a starting price of €480 for the base 128GB model, with the 256GB variant priced €50 higher. Otto highlights the presence of a microSD slot, offering users the option to expand storage at a lower cost, albeit at slower speeds. Both models feature 8GB of RAM, ensuring smooth performance.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy A35 comes in two configurations: a 6/128GB option priced at €380 and an 8/256GB version at €450. Opting for the latter adds €70 to the price tag but also includes an additional 2GB of RAM. Like its counterpart, the A35 also offers expandable storage via a microSD slot.

Examining the specifications, the Galaxy A55 surprises with a 6.6” display, contrary to the rumored 6.5”. Sporting a 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass Victus, it runs on the new Exynos 1480 chipset and features a robust camera setup: a 50MP main sensor, 12MP ultra-wide lens, 5MP macro camera, and a 32MP selfie shooter.

On the other hand, the Galaxy A35 mirrors its sibling with a 120Hz 6.6” FHD+ AMOLED display and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. Powered by the Exynos 1380 chipset, it boasts a camera arrangement comprising a 50+8+5MP setup and a 13MP front camera.

Both devices ship with Android 14, One UI 6.1, and Knox 3.1, accompanied by 5,000mAh batteries and aluminum bodies boasting an IP67 dust and water resistance rating. Additionally, they support dual-SIM functionality with a hybrid SIM tray and eSIM, USB-C ports with v2.0 speeds, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.3 with aptX, LDAC, and SSC capabilities.

While some discrepancies exist, such as the rumored display size of the A55, these leaks provide a comprehensive insight into what consumers can expect from Samsung’s latest offerings, albeit earlier than anticipated.
